A study published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry has found that SEROQUEL (quetiapine fumarate) was associated with an increased risk of major depressive disorder (MDD) in postmenopausal women. In the US, it has been shown to be associated with a lower incidence of depressive symptoms in postmenopausal women. The study is the first to show that a low dose of SEROQUEL (25–50 microgram) can induce a decrease in clinical symptoms in postmenopausal women with depression and/or anxiety disorders. However, the mechanism underlying its effects remains unclear.
The drug was approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in 1995, and was widely used during the last decade. It was originally developed as a treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a debilitating mental disorder. However, it has been shown to be beneficial for MDD. Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate) is an atypical antipsychotic that is often prescribed off-label to help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders. It is also approved for the treatment of insomnia in adults. A meta-analysis of placebo-controlled trials has shown that the drug may have a positive effect on sleep patterns in patients with PTSD, which is thought to be due to its ability to modulate neurotransmitters, in the brain. In addition, the drug has been shown to be effective in reducing depressive symptoms, which is also thought to be a major contributor to the reduced risk of major depression.
The authors of the study concluded that SEROQUEL was a promising treatment for depression. It is not known whether the use of SEROQUEL in depression would be beneficial. However, the drug can cause a reduction in depressive symptoms in premenopausal women, with a reduced risk of MDD.
The results of the study are important in light of the potential benefits of SEROQUEL in the treatment of depression. This is because it is a new indication for the treatment of depressive disorders, and the drug was originally developed for the treatment of PTSD. The findings of the study provide important information about the drug's role in the treatment of depression, which has potential implications for future clinical development.

My dad has been taking a daily dose of seroquel xr and it worked well for him. I did not have any side effects and it was worth it. I wish my dad had a more active and effective med. It was a great medication for me to take and worked wonders for my mood. Overall, a great product.

I have taken seroquel for several years. I take it for anxiety and insomnia and it has been very helpful. My doctor did say it could cause side effects and I would not be able to stop taking it. I am not sure what the potential side effects are but it does not seem to be very common. The only thing I do know is that sometimes seroquel causes withdrawal symptoms or depression. I would not stop taking this medication. It takes me more than a few weeks to feel full again.
